Blaq Bear Adventures – Poster

Blaq Bear is a local firm specializing in guided hiking, historical and culinary walking tours in the Algoma region. I developed Blaq Bear’s logo, website and marketing peripherals. This poster was designed for a trade show to help promote cabin rental packages north of Sault Ste Marie.

VTA Trailhead Signage – Penewobikong Trail

I worked in partnership with Tourism Northern Ontario and the Voyageur Trail Association to develop and implement trail wayfinding in Northern Ontario. Each of the eight sign features a map overview of a specific trail, detail trail imagery, and content relating specifically to that trail and region. The design needed to accommodate different terrain, inset maps, legends and information, while maintaining a similar look and feel. All maps and design elements were developed from scratch. The sign measures 6' x 4'.

Algoma Geriatric Clinic Logo Design

New logo for a local health clinic. The design had to convey a feeling of freedom and movement and reflect the care available to the senior clients the clinic serves.

Family Dentistry on Bay Logo Design & Branding

New logo for a family-run dentistry practice in Sault Ste Marie Ontario. The font could not be changed as the practice had recently installed a large exterior sign. Another parameter was that the logo had to represent the four female dentists who run the practice. The large image is the final chosen logo.

This trio of banners has been used in several Toronto-based Outdoor trade shows. The banners each measure 33.45" x 86".

Forestry Products Innovations 5-Panel Trade Show Banners

The design involved creating a 5 panel banner for a forestry trade show while maintaining their style guide. Each panel was a different width (22” to 27”) with a height of 88”, printed separately, then affixed to curved banner stands when set up. Both French and English languages were accommodated.

Blaq Bear is a local firm specializing in guided hiking, historical and culinary walking tours in the Algoma region. I developed Blaq Bear’s logo, website and marketing peripherals. The design of the bear invokes a sense of travel, movement and connection.

Sault Stryders Logo Design

Logo design for Sault Ste Marie’s running club. Sault Ste Marie is located on the St. Mary’s River (where Lake Superior and Lake Huron meet) and is known for the rapids and locks that separate the Ontario and Michigan sides. I successfully conveyed the feeling of the movement of water (and of running) while stylizing the two “S” characters of “Sault Stryders”. This vector-based design is easily resized with no loss of quality.

Art Gallery of Algoma Exhibition Rack Card

Design and layout of a two-sided rack card featuring summer and fall exhibitions at a regional Northern Ontario art gallery. In this case, the art needs to be the focal point, so colour and layout support this objective.

This two-sided postcard design promoted an Indigenous art installation in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.

TIAFT Conference Branding

This illustrative branding was commissioned to represent a Whistler, BC, 2023 conference for The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists.

Voyageur Trail Association & Ondago App Wayfinding

Ondago is an interactive map app. I was asked to design maps for ten Northern Ontario trail sections and one overview map. All maps are designed and drawn with computer software, using kmz files as reference for accuracy.

Wedding Invitation & Thank You Card Design

This was a fun project for two active runners who wanted their wedding invitation to have a race theme. The illustration supports the theme. This postcard-size invitation was mailed to guests. The thank you card allowed space for the newlyweds to write a personal note.

Algoma Highlands Conservancy Trailhead Sign

The existing sign for the Robertson Cliffs trailhead was outdated in both design and details. This fresh design highlights the Conservancy’s mission along with promoting its main trails. The map and icons were created from scratch using computer software.
